DESCRIPTION:

Providence is calling a Director Nursing - Maternal Child and Oncology departments (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.

We're looking for a Director who will be accountable for the provision and quality of nursing services at the facility level with a defined area of the Maternal Child Department (4 units) as well as our Oncology Department (outpatient infusion along with 1 inpatient medical oncology floor and 1 surgical oncology floor).

Providence is looking for a Director with experience in at least one of the specialty areas listed with the ability to quickly learn the other specialty. We're also looking for a Director that is strong in the areas of strategic thought and implementation as well as a proven ability to influence culture and accountability. This director will also need to be comfortable working in a highly matrixed organization.

In this position you will be responsible for:
  • Strategically ensuring a balance of optimal and efficient patient care; staff, patient, and physician satisfaction; and cooperative partnerships with other organizational departments and professional groups.
  • Have a constant focus on patient-centered care and staff and patient safety. The Nursing Director creates and maintains standards and systems for care delivery at their facility. These systems of care delivery promote evidence-based practice and are designed to support the management of high quality patient outcomes as well as productivity targets within a context of constant change in patient volumes, patient acuity, and available resources.
  • Leading in patient care delivery and planning strategically, consistently supports efficient and effective patient care services, and achieving organizational and system goals.
  • Advance the strategic vision and goals of the Oregon Nursing Center of Excellence.
  • Constructively manages change and promotes a team-based approach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required qualifications for this position includes:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, -OR- related field
  • National Certification from ANA or Professional Organization in relevant field of clinical expertise
  • Current Oregon RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
  • Six (6) years of experience in progressive leadership roles

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
  • Director level experience
