ICU

The ICU is a brand new 20 bed unit with state of the art equipment. Every room has monitors and lifts for convenience of monitoring and repositioning the patient. Staffing includes an out of staff Charge Nurse as well as an LPN that serves as the unit secretary and aids with nursing tasks. We care for a variety of patients including those undergoing cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and continuous renal replacement therapy. In addition, we use therapies including intra-aortic balloon pump, intravascular hypothermia, and percutaneous ventricular assist devices.

Job Description: The Staff RN is responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process and provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates. The nurse practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of CHS. Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.

• BSN desirable.

• Obtains and maintains current CPR certification.
