Currently recruiting an OB/GYN physician in Clarksville, Tennessee to provide care to Active Duty heroes, their families, and retirees at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Ft Campbell. Schedule will include three (3) months per year working the night shift to cover deliveries, all other times will be either in the clinic; operating room; or birthing rooms. Services will be required on Federal holidays.

DUTIES OF THE OB/GYN PHYSICIAN:

Perform triage and care of laboring patients; perform C-section/operative deliveries, assist the CNM with management of the patients; care for postpartum patients, cover the ER for any OB/GYN related issues. The physician can expect approximately 2.75 patients per hour while working in the clinic. The OB/GYN physician will perform as primary and/or assist in emergent surgical cases and assist with scheduled cases as required. The delivery rate is between 145 and 200 plus per month. Clinic and surgical schedules will be established by the Chief of OB with cases distributed equally among staff physicians. Shall diagnose and treat the full range of obstetrical and gynecological cases, procedures and surgeries. The physician shall provide advice and opinions to referring physicians in support of OB/GYN exams, procedures, and surgeries as provided in conjunction with patient care and treatment. The physician shall prepare all records and reports as required. Also, each patient record shall be the physician' s responsibility for content and correctness. Shall facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE OB/GYN PHYSICIAN:

Have successfully completed a residency program in OB/GYN which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.Possess a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.G. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.Possess 24 months of experience as an OB/GYN within the preceding 48 months.The physician must have worked in the OR and L for at least 12 of the preceding 24 months.Possess a current DEA registration.Current ACLS and NRP required. Current, unrestricted license from any of the 50 states and U.S. TerritoriesWith training, must be able to use automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, and Clinical Information System (CIS)Must be a U.S. Citizen; or a lawful permanent resident authorized to work in the US. (for access to Government computer systems)Certification: Board eligible or board certified
