Cascade Medical, in beautiful downtown Leavenworth in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, is looking for a temporary 3-4 months full time Registered Nurse (RN) with excellent clinical and customer service skills.

Work Schedule: This position will be full time Monday-Friday, July-October 2021.

Duties:

1. Triage nurse: Manage nurse-directed patient telephone calls and walk-in patients requesting health care services. Facilitate patient access for same-day appointment requests from patients.
2. Assist in arranging an efficient physician's schedule and smooth patient care flow.
3. Prepare patients for their visit and assist with minor treatments and procedures.
4. Process lab, x-ray orders and notify patients of test results as per provider.
5. Arrange patient appointments for diagnostic tests, consults, and agency referrals, and obtains approvals from HMO Managed Care as appropriate.
6. Approve patient prescription refills per physician guidelines and assist clients in the completion of insurance forms as needed.
7. Respond to telephone calls and direct calls appropriately and document action.
8. Communicate appropriate information to physicians and other health team members in a timely manner. Collaborate with other nurses and physicians.
9. Demonstrate ability and appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and procedures in accordance with physician orders.
10. Provide care for patients including administration of medications and/or treatments.
11. Accurately charge for patient supplies, medications given, and physician charges within 24 hours of visit.
12. Refill nurse: Process and approve patient prescription refill requests per standing order protocols approved by the Medical Director
13. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current Washington State Certification as a Registered Nurse required.
• Current BLS certification and annual recertification required.
• Prior experience as a Triage nurse preferred.
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate patient access in a dynamic clinic setting.
• Ability to maintain composure under stress.
• Ability to push, pull and lift medium and heavy weights using proper body mechanics.
