A 25+ bed Critical Access Hospital is seeking a VP Chief Nursing Officer to join their team.

This Hospital has been serving residents of south-central South Dakota and north-central Nebraska for over 65 years and is proud of its role as the region's primary healthcare provider. While continuing to offer services both patients and residents have grown to rely on, this hospital also places a strong emphasis on the expansion of its services to address the ever changing healthcare needs of those in our area. This hospital is locally owned and operated with a local nine person volunteer board of directors and are responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic direction of the hospital. Each year, the Board chooses three candidates from our local communities to serve three-year terms on the Governing Board.

This hospital is comprised of a 25+ bed critical access hospital, an 80+ bed Skilled Nursing Facility, 10+ bed secured Special Care Unit, and an outpatient clinic with 3 doctors and 7 advanced practice clinicians.

The CNO will be responsible for oversight of all operations surrounding the entire Hospital, SNF and outpatient clincs and will work closely with hospital leadership across all departments. The VP Chief Nursing Officer will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of Nursing/Patient Care Services (i.e., Acute, OR, SNF, Employee Health/Infection Control, /Education/QI, Social Services/Discharge Planning, Utilization Review,). The CNO will ensure compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric, maintain performance improvement activities within the departments and participates in CQI activities, assures competency of all nursing personnel (SANE), assists in formulating the budget and maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while required compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations laws, standards, and protocols.
