Interventional Radiology Technologist produces IR images for medical interpretation but will not supervise other IR technologists. Under general supervision, performs the full range of duties required to assist the radiologists during special invasive and non-invasive radiographic scans and performs a diverse range of other diagnostic radiology work on a wide variety of patients.

Sign-on Bonus Eligibility Requirement:
  • Minimum of twelve (12) months experience (does not include training/orientation time) in the most recent twenty-four (24) month period as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Two (2) year work commitment with Sign-on bonus to be paid in three payments
    1. Completion of orientation and probation
    2. Completion of 1st year of employment
    3. Completion of 2nd year of employment

Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures.
  • Performs related imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Assists with monitoring patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Registry eligible or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License or must be obtained prior to start date
  • IR Advanced Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist must be obtained by 11/1/2020 (current employee) or within 12 months from date of hire (RAD.AD.1.14)
  • New grad or up to one (1) year radiology technologist experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • One (1) year interventional radiology technologist experience
  • Advanced IR registries from the ARRT
