We are currently seeking a Full time, Night Shift (7 p.m.-7 a.m.), Float Registered Nurse (RN), at Belmont Behavioral Hospital.

The Float Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patients receiving services and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible for. The Float RN is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.

The Float RN does not have an assigned unit or shift but rather is assigned based on the hospital and patient's needs. Assignment of duties are made by Nursing Leadership to reflect the hospital and patient acuity to ensure continued patient care services across the organization. Reflective of the active nature of the hospital, the Float RN's assignments may be shifted as needed throughout there shift but all attempts will be made to minimize the number of times the assignment is changed.

The The Float RN's are expected to maintain competency and ability to function in each of the following areas:
  • Inpatient Adult Services
  • Inpatient Child and Adolescent Services
  • Philadelphia Children's Crisis Response Center
  • Admissions Department
  • Outpatient Services
  • Electroconvulsive Therapy

Qualified candidates will:

Have a minimum of an Associates in Nursing from approved program required. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Pennsylvania, and current CPR certification required.

Preferred qualifications:
  • ACLS (for ECT) certification.
  • 2 or more years of nurse experience.
  • 1-2 years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience.
