SUMMARY
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) under the supervision of a Professional Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and/or Physician is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, collecting information, communicating effectively and utilizing technology. The PCT provides personal care of selected patients; assists with activities of daily living, provides comfort measures and nourishments. The PCT also performs selected tasks and therapies as delegated by a licensed professional. The role of the PCT also includes patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement. The PCT primarily functions in the inpatient settings.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a PCT Program or successful completion of the Basic Nursing Fundamental course from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
