Our state- of- the- art Birth Place is a Level II, 29- room Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Post-partum department. Olathe Medical Center, Inc. a 300-bed general acute care hospital facility, is currently looking for a Mother/Baby RN professional to join our team.

Position Description:
The Mother/Baby RN utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. He/she provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. He/she integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families through the continuum of care. The RN collaborates with others to integrate assessment and input of the patient, family and the interdisciplinary team. He/she ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor. Demonstrates leadership skills in decision-making and problem solving. The RN integrates and communicates knowledge and sensitivity to patient's psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:
Education:
2 Year / Associate Degree - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred

Experience:
1 - 3 Years preferred

Knowledge, Skills:
Verbal Communication, Organizational, Assessment, Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize, Customer Relations and Critical Thinking/Reasoning skills required

License, Registration and/or Certification (if applicable):
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in accordance with the Kansas Nurse Licensure Compact upon hire
Healthcare Provider CPR - (American Heart Association or American Red Cross ONLY) Required within 7 days from date of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 180 Days
STABLE: blood Sugar, Temperature, Artificial breathing, Lab work, Emotional support (for primary nursery RN's only) and every five years thereafter within 180 Days
