Job Purpose: As a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Program at Aspire Health Partners, your job purpose will be to provide a multitude of essential functions to assess, plan implement and evaluate the nursing care of psychiatric clients in the Inpatient Program. These functions include -- but are not limited to -- demonstrating leadership while performing nursing care to potentially agitated or combative clients, identifying and assessing client psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious needs, administering client medications and providing knowledge of medications and side effects, documenting client treatment details, assisting physicians with transcriptions and implementation of orders and maintaining compliance by completing necessary training. Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  • Order, inventory and maintain stock of prescription medications, over the counter drugs and first aid supplies.
  • Attend and coordinate the shift report at the end of the shift. Ensure all information is accurate.
  • Assess clients and make rounds early in the shift. Communicate any concerns to the medical provider, medication nurse and supervisor as needed.
  • Monitor the daily census and coordinate with the previous shift and admission scheduler to ensure the bed capacity is maintained.
  • Assign responsibilities to the support and medical staff including lunch breaks. Ensure that staff sign in and out as required.
  • On first shift attend clinical staffing and communicate results to the next shift.
  • May facilitate medical education group meeting, note critical issues for review with others, and perform some administrative functions including incident reports and may collect fees when no other qualified person is available
  • Monitor the activities on the unit and perform crisis interventions as required.
  • Ensure the shift-nursing note is complete on all clients.
  • Coordinate outside medical appointments and client status of those off the unit.
  • Coordinate the dispensing of Methadone.
  • Ensure that dressings on wounds are changed as per orders, and vital signs and any other routine nursing activities are performed in a timely manner.
  • Assist the admissions and medication nurses with their daily responsibilities as needed.
  • Assist the medical support staff with client discharges and review all charts going to residential treatment prior to client transfer.
  • May monitor clients providing UDS to determine presence of addictive substances. Draw labs as prescribed by the medical provider, completing all laboratory documents appropriately.
  • Dispense and document all medications as ordered, notify medical staff of any adverse incident or observation of client that necessitates changes to the client orders.
  • Assist with the admission of clients including the triage and completion of the medical or support staff responsibilities as needed.
  • The night shift prepares the documentation for the following day checking the charts for accuracy. This includes the 24- hour report and census report.

OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Perform or assist with any departmental operations, under direction, to maintain work- flow.
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings, staffing's and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issue, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies. Prepare periodic and special reports relating to work activities and project progress.
  • Maintain work area I a clean and orderly condition. Ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirments:


Position qualifications: Ability to receive and maintain a(n)
  • Level II Background clearance
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver's license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1
  • Current Florida RN License
