An exciting new opportunity for a Nurse Educator Home Health has just opened up at a Medical Center in Northern Oregon

The Home Health Nurse Educator will join a medical center that is respected for high levels of patient care and close ties to the surrounding community. This person will play an important role in maintaining the special relationship between the community and the hospital as this person will be working outside the hospital interacting directly with people in their homes. This community hospital is accredited by the Joint Commision and offers comprehensive medical services including inpatient and outpatient care, medical and surgical services, and diagnostic and emergency care.

Reporting to the Director of Home Health and Hospice, the Home Health Nurse Educator will be responsible for the professional development and quality assessment of the nurses within the Home Health and Hospice department. The Nurse Educator Home Health will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals that are trained to provide high quality home health care to patients and their families.

This Position will work with Assistant Manager of Home Health and the Clinical Nursing Education department to develop curriculum and continuous education for a large staff made up of Physical Therapists, Respiratory therapists, Home Health RNs, as well as new-hires. This Person will focus on utilizing the most advanced evidence-based best practices, technologies and techniques and implement them in the curriculum for new hires and continuing education within the Home Health Department.

The Nurse Educator Home Health will be responsible for providing direct care to patients and the training and education of staff within the department. While providing direct care, this person will be responsible for creating a Plan of Care and revising as necessary to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to promote safety and high quality of care.
