The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for two full-time positions in the Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology as hospital-based gastroenterologists. The positions will be primarily dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and education in the hospital setting. Responsibilities will include supervision of consultations and procedures by fellows, residents, and medical students on the inpatient GI Consultation Service; review and develop educational curriculum and activities in collaboration with the Fellowship Program Director; and a lead role in improving the quality and efficiency of the inpatient clinical service. The position will require acting as the GI Attending 2 weeks monthly during which presence in the hospital will be required as well as participation in educational conferences. Time not assigned to the inpatient service will be spent performing procedures and consultations in the outpatient setting. Evening and weekend call will be shared equally with the other faculty.
