Minimum Education

Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner's training program and hold current license as a Nurse Practitioner with the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
Required Licenses
Current NP license required.BLS required.Must possess a working knowledge of medication use and administration.Experience documenting in an electronic medical record highly recommended.Required SkillsExcellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent customer service skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, problem-solve, and handle stress in a positive manner.Essential FunctionsPerforms advanced patient assessments and seeks consultation of the physician for patients conditions outlined in agreement.Demonstrates a commitment to personal growth and development; ensures that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times and complies with all organizational policies.Arranges referrals to other members of the health care team as needed and to community resources as appropriate.Orders, performs, and interprets tests within the provider's scope of practice.Demonstrates awareness of current state, federal and local laws governing the delivery of care.Provides for therapeutic treatments and procedures as per delegation of services agreement.Provides open and timely communication with customers, families, and their significant others and provides educational resources as appropriate.Ensures timely review of services provided as determined by the providers state licensing board by the providers supervising physician.Maintains license, certification and CME as dictated and regulated by the provider's state licensing board and TCRH, Inc.Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of TCRH, Inc. bylaws.Completes required in-services in a timely fashion.Participates in the development and implementation of patient satisfaction improvements.Ensures appropriate charge levels for patient visits based on AMA standards.Functional DemandsStanding, sitting, walking, bending (45-90 degree angles) are required.May require stair climbing.Speech, hearing, and visual acuity necessary in order to perform job requirements.Exposure to blood, body fluids and hazardous waste is moderate to frequent and must carry out universal precautions according to policy.May be exposed to injury by irrational or disturbed customers, to customers with communicable diseases, and/or potentially dangerous equipment.Must be able to read and write to fulfill job description.May be exposed to bad weather if necessary to escort a customer from or to a vehicle.Organizational ExpectationsProvides a positive and professional representation of the organization.Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.Maintains hospital standards to maintain a positive patient care experience.Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.Maintains compliance with organization's policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards.Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.
