The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting for Pediatric Emergency Medicine faculty. We offer two types of opportunities: 1) Clinical Researcher with a track record of successful research activities, as demonstrated by peer-review publications and funding; 2) Director of Quality Improvement for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, Oakland.
Candidates should be board certified or eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. For the research position, the successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding and original research, a track record of funding, and a collaborative spirit. We also will consider pediatric emergency medicine faculty with outstanding scholarly contributions in medical education and early faculty with significant research contributions. For the QI position, candidates must have a track record of success in the area of Quality Improvement and advanced training in QA methods. For both positions, successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in a clinical and educational environment and must be willing to contribute to the division’s strategic plan in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion. Academic rank and series will be commensurate with qualifications.
The Department of Emergency Medicine provides comprehensive emergency services to a large local and referral population with approximately 70,000 pediatric visits a year at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals at Mission Bay and Oakland, and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). The Department of Emergency Medicine hosts a fully accredited 4-year Emergency Medicine residency program and multiple fellowship programs, including a joint fellowship program in Pediatric Emergency Medicine with UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Research is a major priority and UCSF Benioff Childrens Hospital is a member of the Pediatric Emegency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN). There are opportunities for leadership and growth within the Division, Department and School of Medicine.
