Patient Care Assistants / PCA:

Patient Care Assistants at Lancaster General Health are an integral part of the healthcare team, partnering with the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care and positively impacting the lives of our patients. Throughout our practice of providing patient care at the bedside, we serve as a liaison between the patient and the nurse, helping to support our vision and commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes across the continuum of care.

Through our new PCA clinical ladder program, we can pursue professional growth through education, collaboration and leadership opportunities. We actively participate in improvement huddles within our nursing unit, sharing our ideas and influencing clinical practice. Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of the educational requirements (additional formal education/training; maximum supervision for initial competency; high degree associated risk factors; yearly competency evaluation and training).
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification required.

Housekeeping / Environmental Services:

The Housekeeper cleans and services patient, public, clinical, and administrative areas, maintaining the standards of Lancaster General Hospital.

The Maintenance Housekeeper maintains the hospital and hospital owned properties, refinishing/scrubbing floors, shampooing/bonnetting carpet and furniture as well as performing routing housekeeping functions. This includes all major housekeeping projects and moves as well as individual Requests.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • One (1) year of experience in hospitality/medical housekeeping.
  • One (1) year of experience operating housekeeping-related equipment.

Emergency Department Customer Service:

Provides complete and accurate patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, ordering of tests and coordination of applicable screening, diagnostic, physician office and outpatient hospital services. Capable of coordinating and communicating effectively during increased volumes or with complex patients.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One (1) year of clerical, customer service, or administrative support experience in a highly customer-oriented organization.
  • One (1) year experience with basic keyboarding, personal computer use, and other office setting equipment.
