The Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Management at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) [https://www.hss.edu/anesthesiology-department.asp] is recruiting a full-time research scientist with advanced degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD), who will be responsible for leading and managing our Chronic Pain Research Program.  This is a non-clinical research track position with no clinical privileges, with potential faculty affiliations to Weill Cornell Medical School and/or HSS Research Institute. 

The successful candidate will provide scientific leadership, oversee, spearhead, and shape chronic pain-related research projects within the department, take responsibility for chronic pain management research program development, contribute to chronic pain research leadership initiatives, and serve as an academic collaborator and mentor within and outside HSS.

The Hospital for Special Surgery is affiliated with and adjacent to Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) and embedded in a vibrant research environment encompassing Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Rockefeller University. HSS [https://www.hss.edu/] is nationally ranked No. 1 in orthopedics (for the 12th consecutive year) and No. 3 in rheumatology by US News & World Report (2019-2020). 

A track record of achievement in chronic pain research or related fields, as evidenced by high quality publications is required.  History of sustained extramural funding is highly recognized but not required.   A competitive salary and benefit package will be offered.
