Registered Nurses" Needed for our Cardiology Service Line areas due to our expansion in our ICU Advanced Cardiology Surgical Unit at AdventHealth Orlando!

• * Advanced Cardiology Surgical Unit an expansion of our CVICU with ECMO

• * Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) - Transplants

• * Cardiac ICU with Medical overflow

Our heart transplant program was the top program in volume in the Southeastern US in 2016. The program also includes care for patients with mechanical circulatory devices.
  • ACSU unit is an extension of our CVICU that specializes in mechanical circulatory support devices along with heart and lung transplants. We care for over 120 ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) patients a year, along with LVAD/Left Ventricular Assist Device such as Heartmate II, III, and Heartware, along with other support devices; such as Centrimag, Impella, and Tandem Heart/Lung.
  • Our ECMO program was awarded, "Center of Excellence", Gold status by the ELSO organization for 2018-2021.
  • CICU/MICU cares for complex cardiac and medical conditions. CICU has one of the lowest mortality rates for AMI patients in the nation and one of the lowest for length of stay.

Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time - Days or Nights, 3/12-hour shifts, 7-7

  • Full Time employment contract required.
  • Rehires within 12 months are not eligible.
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Completes timely assessments per Practice Guidelines including physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and life-style factors, including signs of abuse or neglect. Makes appropriate decisions and interventions and nursing diagnosis according to patients actual or potential health conditions or needs.
  • Based on the assessment and diagnosis, sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for the patient, assisting in the development and implementation of an individualized plan of care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including, but not limited to lab results, non-invasive monitoring data and interdisciplinary team notes.
  • Nursing practice reflects the application of knowledge, skill and adherence to all pertinent regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the recording and accessing of all patient information in electronic medical record according to policy and in real time. Performs appropriate and legible documentation, recording all procedures and assessments within established timeframes, and in accordance with standards of care, departmental policy and practice guidelines.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Graduate of a school of nursing
  • Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • Professional certification (Preferred)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP (based on patient population; See document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) (Preferred)
Job Summary:
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups. Utilizes the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department.
