Assistant/Associate Professor of Surgery – Adult Cardiothoracic Surgeon

The Department of Surgery, University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time academic surgeon at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC). Candidates must be Board Certified/Eligible. Candidates finishing cardiothoracic surgery training or recently graduated with interest in developing expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, both thoracoscopically or robotically assisted on and off-pump coronary artery bypass (CABG) surgery and arrythmia surgery are desired.

Candidates finishing training or recently graduated with a strong commitment to developing an NIH R01 funded laboratory in translational research are highly encouraged to apply. This position at the SFVAMC would help build additional areas of clinical expertise in that program to complement already established programs in minimally invasive surgical aortic valve replacement, structural heart programs, and multi-arterial on and off pump CABG grafting. This position may have some clinical responsibilities at UCSF Health or one of its’ affiliate hospitals.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency training and educational programs.
