The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) seeks Pediatric Ophthalmology candidates for a position as Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics.  The candidate must hold and MD/DO degree, be BC/BE in Ophthalmology and successfully complete an AAPOS approved fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and will hold or be eligible for an Illinois physician license.  This is a faculty position, as such requires clinical care, teaching medical students and residents, research and scholarly activities.

The position will provide clinical consultation services for pediatric patients in the Children’s Hospital of Illinois (CHOI)

Clinical activities of the faculty are primarily concentrated at CHOI, which is the primary pediatric teaching facility for UICOMP and is a 132-bed facility that offers over 50 pediatric programs and services.  These programs represent over 100 pediatric sub-specialist in 24 different disciplines, including the larges pediatric surgery program in Illinois.  CHOI is the only full service tertiary hospital for children in downstate Illinois with a children and adult congenital heart disease program, Illinois Perinatal Center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit and is designate as a Level I trauma center.
