Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Arizona is seeking a Full Time House Supervisor - RN - to join our team on Days!

The House Supervisor is responsible for administrative supervision of nursing services on the assigned shift. Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel to maintain continuity of patient care. Provides professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit. Integrates the hospital's mission and "Guiding Principles" into daily practice.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides overall supervision of staff, tasks, and workflow on the units and the hospital during assigned shift. Assigns work and ensures the timeliness and quality of work performed.
  • Coordinates the care of patients on assigned shift. Ensures proper shift levels by evaluating census, acuity, skill level, and staff availability.
  • Collaborates on hiring, employee training and development, investigations, performance assessment, and retention of assigned staff, including participating in or initiating counseling and disciplinary actions.
  • Provides feedback and advice to Nurse Manager/DNO regarding unit happenings, workflow issues, possible process improvement projects, and trends in staff morale.
  • Assists with direct patient care nursing responsibilities during high flow work times, and accepts patient assignments as needed.
  • Participates in data collection, summaries, analyses, and follow up for risk and quality purposes. Other data collection as needed.
  • Provides timely assistance with urgent and emergency situations, i.e., Code Blue and Rapid Response.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assess the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the department.

Minimum Education/Experience:
  • Current state Registered Nurse license required.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • One (1) year recent experience required. Acute care setting preferred.
  • ACLS certification preferred.


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and adherence to current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards of practice.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and utilizes proper policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for patients.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
