Consultant – Maternal Fetal Medicine

Auckland District Health Board is New Zealand’s MFM centre of excellence and one of the country’s largest health providers overall with 11,000 employees across 19 specialist services treating patients from across the country. We offer a wide range of primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary services to around 1.6 million people in the northern region as well as nationally for specific specialities.

We are renowned academically as New Zealand’s largest teaching hospital and hold a strong alliance with the University of Auckland and its Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

Consultant – Maternal Fetal Medicine

This is a unique and flexible critical clinical leadership opportunity in our MFM unit with regional and national prominence. The ability to influence best practice at a national level is substantive. 

As a part of National Women's Health Services, the Maternal Fetal Medicine Service provides a regional service to 40,000 pregnant women and Fetal Therapy and Fetal Cardiac Services to New Zealand and some Pacific Islands (65,000 pregnancies).The position offers a mix of Maternal and Fetal medicine, on call commitments, leadership opportunity and possibly additional clinical sessions.

Applicable candidates will have a subspecialty qualification in MFM. You will also hold or be eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (https://www.mcnz.org.nz).
