Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Essential Functions
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. LDRP competent
Staff member demonstrates clinical competence and efficiency in care of the patient in labor, delivery postpartum and newborn, as defined in hospital and departmental policies, professional practice standards/guideline, and the Law/Rules regulating the practice of Nursing(AZ Board of Nursing website @www.AZBN.gov).

Job Requirements:
Minimum Education Required
Associate's degree
Required License
AZ RN License or compact RN license
Required Certification(s)
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or higher level certification (ACLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 6 months of hire
Preferred Certification(s)
STABLE certification
Competencies:
Electric Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire and every two years thereafter.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
