Experience:
This role requires 2 years of Cardiac/Cardiovascular Intensive Care experience.
Technology:
Experience with Epic is preferred for this role.
Requirements:
The facility requires candidates to have South Dakota or compact license in hand at the time of application. This role will require floating to additional units and/or locations. There is a mileage limit of 100 miles in order to be considered a traveler for this role. Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.
To qualify as a traveler, the permanent address of the traveler must be 100 miles away from the facility
Candidate will be placed in the Heart and Vascular Unit with the floating assignments to the Progressive Care Unit. Candidate may also be placed in the ICU, Med/Surg, or surge capacity units if necessary based on the need of the organization. Will also need to float to surge capacity COVID areas as needed.
The Heart and Vascular Unit is a 44 bed intermediate level step down unit. HVU primarily cares for adult patients who have a cardiac diagnosis such as: chest pain, MI's, CHF, dysrhythmia management, cardiac, carotid and peripheral vascular interventions and cardiovascular surgeries.
This unit is stroke certified and they serve as an overflow unit if the neurovascular unit is full, as well as patients from their sister unit, the Progressive Care Unit, which is a medical step down area. Many patients in this unit require the skills of critical care nurses, but do not require the intense level of support or monitoring provided by the ICU. This is a fast-paced unit and quick patient turn-over.
Patient ratio is 3:1-4:1.
This is a teaching hospital and the traveler is expected to work in a teaching role if needed.
Three 12 hour shifts for 36 hours a week and 50 percent weekends (estimated to be about every other weekend)
