. Requirements:
Summary: The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Assists the doctor in procedures
* Takes x-rays
* Takes IO's
* Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
* Instructs patients on oral hygiene
* Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
* Sterilizes instruments
* Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
* Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

* Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

Education and/or Experience: Certification from a dental college; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic office equipment such as: computer, internet, email, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: X-Ray certification, BLS/CPR certification, and 8-hour Infection Control certification required.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
