MEDICAL DIRECTOR

MEDICAL DIRECTOR, NEW C/A PSYCH UNIT WITH FACULTY APPOINTMENT

Horizon Health manages psychiatric programs in general hospitals nationwide, and we have been doing so since 1981.  We are assisting our client hospital, Hurley Medical Center--a 440-bed teaching medical center in Flint, MI, with their search for a dynamic Board Certified and Fellowship trained Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to be the Medical Director on their brand new 14-bed inpatient Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Unit opening in the beginning of February 2022.

Responsibilities for this Medical Director position include: part-time admin duties; oversee one 2nd year Psychiatry Resident and one C/A Fellow on unit; clinical care for 3 to 5 inpatients; and consultation-liaison in ED and on med floors (unit will also have a Clinical Assessment Coordinator). This employed position will also have a faculty appointment at Michigan State University.

Located within Hurley Medical Center is their impressive Children’s Hospital which is a designated Children’s Miracle Network Hospital® since 1990--a system of 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada that is dedicated to providing the very best care for sick and injured children.  Should a Psychiatrist have an interest in treating more medically complex children/adolescents, this would be a huge plus.
