Responsibilities:
Our Director of Nursing duties include:Participates in the recruitment, selection, orientation, and on-boarding of nursing staff. Evaluates the clinical competence of nurses; implements performance improvement initiatives to support clinical skill development and ensure quality clinical care. Provides oversight and training to nursing team.Supervises the health care services and programs to residents; coordinates medical and pharmaceutical services. Performs various treatments or therapies including but not limited to wound care, gastrostomy tube feedings or oxygen therapy, as necessary. Ensures the availability of nursing staff on a twenty-four (24) hour basis.Develops and maintain written objectives, policies and procedures related to discharge planning, clinical programs and treatment plans for residents with complex medical needs. Develops and implements standards of care, policies, and procedures affecting clinical services and the provision of assistance with activities of daily living. Supervises documentation in resident health records and reviews scheduled audits.Coordinates inter-disciplinary health care services for residents that are provided by LVNs and Direct Service Associates, other service providers, and consultants. Ensures the coordination and integration of nursing services with other direct care services to ensure continuity of care for each resident. Coordinates resident admissions and transfers with other care facilities or agencies.Partners with the Residential Administrators, LVNs, and Direct Service Associates in the assessment, planning, provision, and evaluation of care to residents. Promotes stimulation, uplifting and comfortable environments for residents and staff. Assists with coordination of all medical devices necessary for a clients RHCP to meet compliance.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited university and current RN licensure is required.2+ years experience in home care, assisted living, direct care of disabled individuals, or similar experience.5+ years experience supervising clinical staff, including LVNs.Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws impacting risk and safety functions.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Excellent supervisory and coaching skills.Ability to interface with all levels of management.Demonstrated leadership skills, including the development of highly successful teams, effective mentoring, motivating and empowering staff.Open to feedback and willing to strive to improve own performance based on feedback.Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and test for tuberculosis.Ability to provide assistance with personal care to residents and to transfer an individual who has no weight bearing skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to push/pull wheelchairs on a variety of terrain.Able to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easter Seals Southern California and/or program requirements.#ZR
