The Director, Compliance Physician Practices is responsible for developing and maintaining compliance structures for external physician practices (Indiana University Health Physicians) and employed physician practices (Eskenazi Medical Group). This individual leads the overall direction and management of compliance oversight including implementing education and training, resources, as well as initiating compliance projects to insure organizational integrity. The position supports the Chief Compliance Officer and senior leadership in fulfilling her/his oversight role by providing independent assessments of the physician arrangements/affiliations, comparing those to regulatory requirements, and implementing plans to address risk areas identified.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Promotes a culture of compliance across HHC/Eskenazi Health serving as a compliance expert resource for physician practices.
Provide insight into the risk assessment plan regarding physician practices in order to audit or otherwise review those areas identified as risk areas.
Oversee the organizational, group, and individual practices involving IUHP and EMG physicians to assess compliance with agreements, regulations, and government agencies with regard to documentation of services provided, coding, resident oversight, and maintaining logs as required for administrative functions.
Increase communications with physicians groups and IUHP colleagues to establish working relationships which encourage consistency with compliance practices and expectations of physicians.
Lead discussions and develop projects to identify and mitigate compliance issues in practice areas.
Participate in physician leadership meetings to promote compliance initiatives, and respond to concerns raised by physicians.
Promptly investigate reports of non-compliance or suspected violations of non-compliance and implement corrective actions as deemed appropriate.
Monitor conflict of interest disclosures, OIG screenings, compliance training, and other requirements for physicians to ensure completed in accordance with policies, regulatory requirements, and the risk assessment plan.
Collaborate with members of the Office of Corporate Compliance, as part of the compliance team, to share expertise and experience in building a culture of compliance across the organization.
Remains current on federal and state regulations related to physician services and practices.

Job Requirements

• Master's degree in health services administration or related field, or JD required.

• Minimum of five years of experience working in physician practice areas, including overseeing compliance activities within the practice.

• Three to five years of experience with conducting investigations to determine regulatory compliance.

• Familiar with navigating the electronic medical record system (Epic) to complete reviews.
