Position Summary:

Sea Mar is opening up a brand new GeroPsych Inpatient Unit in Seattle. We are seeking a Full-Time ARNP / Nurse Manager to oversee the clinical/psychiatric services for this program. This program is designed to address the concerns of older adults with Mental Health Disorders, anxiety, depression and aging. Thru this program the psychological care received encourages older adults to live full lives well into their senior years by treating a variety of disorders and challenges that come with aging.

The ARNP is part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to the GeroPsych Facility patients; and the ARNP will work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Implement nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with the Chief of Behavioral Health and Clinical Director to meet Sea Mar's standards, philosophy, and governmental regulations.
* Good communication (both written and verbal) and team building skills are necessary for this position.
* Consultation with Behavioral Health clinical staff to review cases and provide recommendations about diagnosis, medications, and other treatment considerations.
* Phone availability for emergency review of medications and their effects, or for refilling prescriptions.
* Chart documentation to include written notes of psychiatric evaluations, medication reviews, and any other client contacts.
* The GeroPsych Facility ARNP will maintain a Psychiatric Medication Chart, make copies of all prescriptions, and obtain all necessary medication consent signatures from each client.
* Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
* Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
* Able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients.

Education & Experience/Requirements:

* Must be an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice in the State of Washington.
* Experience working with Psychiatric/Behavioral Health patients and experience working on inpatient settings is preferred.
* MHP, prefer certification as minority Mental Health Specialist as prescribed by WAC, must have and maintain TB test annually.
* This position must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.

Language Skills

* Must speak English, Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to speak efficiently before client or employees of organization.
