Overview:
Responsible for clinical duties such as taking vital signs and identifying abnormal values, anthropometric measurement and conversions, performing diagnostic tests and calculations, collecting and labelling specimens, drawing blood, CLIA-waived laboratory procedures, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, providing requested equipment, performing basic wound care, perform eye and ear irrigation, administering medications under appropriate supervision, uses expertise communicating with information technology, managing patient supply inventories, and maintaining rooms at an inpatient or outpatient care site. Will be responsible for significant administrative/clerical duties including patient record care, consents, scheduling, documentation, basic coding, etc.

Responsibilities:
Significant documentation & recordkeeping as directed using information technologyCares for and treats patients as directed by the physician/provider staff within scope of licensure/certificate trainingPrepares patients for and assists with examinations.Dresses wounds and incisions, removes simple sutures and staples under direct care of physician/providerInterprets provider staff instructions to patient.Assists with emergency and minor surgery and performs related tasks as directed under supervision of physician/providerMaintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of the patient.Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment.Maintains stock of supplies.Conducts basic phlebotomy.May conduct specified lab tests, perform electrocardiograms, and take and develop x-rays within scope of licensure, training and certificationMay act as a receptionist, perform secretarial duties, and assist with monthly statements under the direction of the office personnel.Maintain confidentialityFloat as directed to other facilities working within scope of licensure, training and certification

Qualifications:
Education:General office skills, excellent written and oral communication required, C.N.A, EMT, CMA, or equivalent experience appropriate for training leading to certification as a CCMA; HS diploma and college classes or associates degree preferredExperience:Clinic, hospital, or department office and /or clinical experience or related educationDegrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:Must maintain BLS certification, check off on competency; CCMA maintenanceMust have a copy of a diploma or offical transcript of the highest level of educationKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishExcellent written and oral communication skills requiredComputer skills, Excel, Word and data entry skills, IS application skillsExcellent customer services skillsAbility to understand and follow written and oral directionsAbility to communicate effectively
