Description The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Board certification or board eligible in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching Penn students, residents and fellows, as well as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include clinical care that specializes in IBD, motility/physiology, hepatology, advanced endoscopy, and/or general gastroenterology. The selected candidate may be required to provide these services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH) and/or Penn Medicine at Radnor (PMR).

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include working on research in any field of gastroenterology, including liver biology, mucosal biology and immunology, GI cancer, physiology, and others.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and teaching. This is an exciting opportunity to facilitate basic and translational research within a great university and prominent health system. Selected applicants will join a highly interactive and exiting multidisciplinary academic and clinical environment at the University of Pennsylvania as an integral member of the Division of Gastroenterology and will have opportunities to teach in the GI fellowship and internal medicine residency programs at the Perelman School of Medicine.
