The Department of Interventional Radiology is seeking candidates for a clinical faculty appointment. The final rank of this appointment will be commensurate with the final candidates' qualifications. The Department's clinical practice encompasses a broad scope of image-guided interventions and therapies with a particular focus in oncology. This position would have an academic appointment with the Department of Interventional Radiology at the Texas Medical Center location in Houston, TX. This individual will become part of a multidisciplinary team, involving representation from the medical, radiation, and surgical fields. Academic faculty positions at all ranks will include a mix of procedures, outpatient clinical encounters, inpatient rounding, patient management, teaching, and research.

The Department of Interventional Radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of the largest Interventional Radiology groups in the country. Our group is entirely focused on serving the needs of our cancer patients. We performed over 16,000 procedures in 2020. Our breadth of procedures spans the oncology and non-oncology spheres. We perform procedures at IR-dedicated facilities at the Texas Medical Center and two outpatient clinics in the surrounding Houston-area. Our research program is well-funded, and we have a dedicated pre-clinical lab to conduct translational experiements. The lab is equipped with its own state-of-the-art hybrid CT and angiography system. Our integrated IR residency program is committed to providing an outstanding educational program and training the next generation of leaders in IR.

Qualified applicants must be certified by the American Board of Radiology and CAQ certified (or eligible, if a recent graduate) in Interventional Radiology. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is also required. While the candidate will be primarily based at the Texas Medical Center location, the candidate must have the mobility and willingness to work at any MD Anderson Houston Area Location across the metropolitan area. Apart from general oncologic and non-oncologic intervention experience, additional expertise in endovascular interventions involving the head & neck (e.g. pre-operative devascularization of tumors) or body (e.g. endovascular management of peripheral vascular disease) would be desirable.
