We are seeking applicants for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at UCLA in the area of cardiovascular metabolism. UCLA is distinguished by its world-class  environment for biomedical research, providing access to cutting-edge core
infrastructure and expertise. Faculty are part of a cross-departmental and cross-school research ecosystem that includes basic and clinical departments, as well as Unified Research Themes focused on metabolism and cardiovascular disease. UCLA faculty have an outstanding tradition of
accomplishments in the basic realms of molecular biology, gene regulation, metabolism and biophysics, in addition to translational studies in
atherosclerosis,lipid biology,metabolic syndrome,heart failure and arrhythmias.The DGSOM and the UCLA College of Life Sciences have also made institutional commitments to nanosystems research, human genetics, computational medicine and systems biology—resources that are available
to new faculty recruits.

The successful candidate must have a M.D. (or equivalent) and/or Ph.D. (or equivalent) and will have a strong track record of investigation and be
expected to develop an independently funded research program at the intersection between metabolism and cardiovascular development or disease. Potential areas of interest could include, but are not limited to, metabolic regulation of cardiac and vascular development, cardiac hypertrophy and injury,mitochondrial dysfunction heart failure,cardiovascular aging and atherosclerosis.The candidate will join one of the many outstanding clinical or basic science departments in the David Geffen School of Medicine such as Physiology, Medicine/Cardiology, Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Biological Chemistry that closely align with the applicant's area of research. We are seeking candidates that possess the ability to work collaboratively with other scientists and hold the scholarly qualities required to mentor a diverse population of trainees.A generous start-up package and lab space in state-of-the-art research facilities will be available.
