The Department of Pediatric Surgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University College of Medicine is seeking a full-time pediatric surgeon to join the department. Certification in Surgical Critical Care is a requirement for this position.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the country, is a national leader in pediatric quality and safety, and is consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as an Honor Roll hospital. The Department of General Pediatric Surgery provides comprehensive surgical care for infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired conditions. Our nationally-recognized team includes 16 pediatric surgeons who perform more than 5,000 operative procedures a year. Care is provided in multiple focused areas of excellence. We have many fellowship programs including pediatric surgery, surgical critical care, minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery, and colorectal surgery, as well as multiple research fellowships. We are committed to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and the academic mission of the Department. The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital is ranked in the top 10 for NIH funding among free-standing children’s hospitals. Research programs are organized into multidisciplinary centers of emphasis structured to encourage collaboration, facilitate team science, and foster creativity.

Qualified applicants will be BC/BE in Pediatric Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Applicants must be committed to academic surgery and to surgical education. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teaching, and will advance the academic mission of the Department.
