JOB SUMMARY
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (Children's) is seeking a visionary and collaborative professional to join our team as Director of Physician Practice Operations with our Orthopedics program. As a Director of Physician Practice Operations, responsibilities include planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, and controlling the operations of all assigned practices. The Physician Practice Operations Director works collaboratively with practice physicians to ensure the efficient and effective daily operation of the practice including, but not limited to, the supervision and evaluation of the practice staff and all practice operations, budget management and financial oversight and review, and business process analysis and redesign when warranted.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
Supervise and advise the managers at assigned practices, and support them in managing the practice. Support includes, but is not limited to:
Analyzing access and patient throughput
Understanding and improving customer satisfaction, productivity analysis and efficiency studies
Providing human resource management and development.
Responsible for the financial viability of the Children's Physician Practice practices as assigned including, but not limited to:
Monitoring progress against budget
Planning and implementing capital expenditures
Following progress of business office
Planning and managing operating budget on a practice by practice level
Understanding and monitoring physician progress on the compensation plan
Serve as partner to physicians in assigned practices and liaison between physicians and Children's Administration.
Ensure providers at assigned practices understand their obligations:
as specified by their agreements with Children's
in compliance with Children's policies and procedures
in support of Children's goals
Support clinical and office staff in upholding clinical quality in practice
Facilitate monthly provider meetings within assigned practices.
Act as resource for special task forces throughout Children's as needed.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration or related discipline
EXPERIENCE*
Minimum five years management experience within a physician practice operation
Demostrable experience with identifying opportunities and managing change
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
MBA or MHA
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES*
Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with physicians
Strong command of the principles associated with financial analysis, strategic planning, physician practice operations, and healthcare information systems
Demonstrated skills and aptitude for conflict resolution, problem-solving, staff development and time management
