SHIFT: Nights (rotating weekends)
SCHEDULE: Part-time

For more than three decades, Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas has been Nevadas largest, most comprehensive childrens hospital dedicated to caring for infants, children, adolescents and expectant mothers. As the leading neonatal, pediatric, and maternal provider in the region, we partner with physicians and hospitals throughout the Southwest to offer the most comprehensive and advanced health programs as well as access to sub-specialties. Sunrise Children's Hospital provides advanced pediatric and neonatal medicine to the residents of Southern Nevada and the surrounding region. Located near the Las Vegas strip, Sunrise Childrens Hospital offers 24/7 pediatric emergency services in our ER just for kids. In addition to pediatric cardiology, Sunrise Children's Hospital also features Nevada's largest, most comprehensive 72-Bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 24-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and 14-bed inpatient pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), the only one of its kind in Nevada today. The CICU is a 12,000 square-foot unit dedicated to the treatment of congenital heart defects, heart rhythm disturbances and heart disease in infants and children.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse performs the active nursing process consisting of the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients. May assume the role as Team Leader for part or duration of shift.

Qualifications

STATUS/SHIFT: Part Time Nights

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • BSN from an accredited School of Nursing

Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years current acute clinical care experience
  • Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required

License/Certification:
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada. Independently maintains license and acquires required contact hours to maintain practice. Acquires required contact hours to maintain practice
  • BCLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • CCRN preferred
  • Passing score on Critical Care Test/Rhythm interpretation examination.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.
  • Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients rights in the delivery of care.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner appropriate to the developmental stage of the patient.
  • Ability to participate in considerable walking and standing, moderate lifting, and exposure to patient elements and handling of emergencies and critical patient incidents.
  • Complies with hospital employee health, infection control and safety management programs.
  • Must meet clinical standards specific to the assigned patient care area (specialty unit employees for areas such as ICU).
