Job Description
Compass Healthcare Consulting & Placement is conducting a search for an experienced RN Quality Improvement Specialist for a growing MLTC located in Queens, NY. Qualified candidates will have experience with Quality within Managed Long Term Care Plans. Competitive Salary and compensation package!

The RN Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating MLTC's Quality improvement activities, including Performance Improvement Projects (PIP's). This includes but is not limited to:

1) supporting the organization's Quality improvement process;

2) identifying Quality trends; and

3) prioritizing and recommending improvements through data-driven analysis.

4) Coordinating, facilitating and reporting on Performance Improvement Projects.

The RN QI Specialist also plays a role in ensuring compliance with all State and Federal contractual requirements regarding quality management. The RN Quality Improvement Specialist will, as needed, investigate specific areas of concern as identified by MLTC leadership. The RN Quality Improvement Specialist reports to the Director of Quality Management and Improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting MLTC's Quality improvement process.
  • Identifying opportunities for Quality improvement, particularly in clinical areas;
  • Developing of an annual Quality improvement project and seeing it through to its conclusion, including development of its year-end report;
  • Identifying data resource needs and working with parts of the organization responsible (e.g., IT) to implement modifications
  • Facilitating Performance Improvement Projects with various departments to improve the overall performance of the organization.
  • Provide consultative services for MLTC staff toward meeting standards of Quality and organizational compliance, including providing education to MLTC staff on Quality expectations as well as the latest information on quality techniques and standards
  • Use the principles of continuous quality and performance improvement to monitor functions and drive organizational change
  • Perform periodic Quality reviews and targeted audits as determined by MLTC leadership and Quality trends.
  • Other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree m a health-related related field such as BSN, healthcare management, or healthcare informatics,
  • Experience: At least four years working in positions of increasing responsibility in a healthcare or managed care setting in Quality Management. RN with Quality Improvement background
  • Familiarity with Managed Long-Term Care and New York State Department of Health programs, including Star ratings
  • Strong organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office and Windows), especially proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Ability to write reports, design forms, retrieve data, and speak effectively with management and staff
  • Ability to work and manage problems independently.
