Through your efforts, you will help to fulfill the Legacy mission of making life better for others.The Clinical Nurse Educator works in collaboration with unit leadership and Legacy Health Clinical Practice Support educational support structure to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education, staff development activities and quality initiatives in the specialty unit or program area assigned. Activities include planning and coordinating unit-based educational activities, participation in design and implementation of the LH clinical processes; competency assessment and education of nursing staff; assessment of staff learning needs; and assisting with leading quality initiatives. Other activities will be defined by the unit leadership.Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland plays a vital role as a local and regional leader in serious clinical illness or injury. With around-the-clock expertise for critical health issues, including experts in trauma, heart care, burns, significant wounds, stroke, brain surgery and more, Legacy Emanuel is central to the health of our community and critical to the care of the Northwest. Emanuel Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center, Regional Burn Center and serves the needs of both adult hospital population as well as Randall Childrens Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. Currently there are 19 ORs/procedure suites, performing an average of 50 cases/day for both Adult and Pediatric specialties including, cardiovascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedic, ENT, Burns, OMFS, Plastics, Gynaecology and robotics.In July 2018, construction commenced on the new Emanuel West tower which includes brand new operating rooms, PACU, Central Sterile and other support areas.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Education:Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required. Internal candidates may be considered with verification of a BSN or MSN/MN in progress, to be completed prior to 12/31/2021.Experience:Two years of relevant clinical experience at proficient to expert level of practice required. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles as evidenced by the ability to facilitate learning for patients/families, nursing staff or other members of the healthcare team.This position will be a combination of a Clinical Nurse Educator and Staff RN. 2 - (8) hour shifts at Staff RN 2 - (8) hour shifts as Clinical Nurse Educator.Responsible for supporting the Operating Room and Anesthesia in the Clinical Nurse Educator role.Knowledge/Skills:Highly effective teaching and communication skills.
