The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care, Stroke Care, Orthopedics, Neurological Surgery, Comprehensive Cancer Care, Maternity Care, and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services, along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition, the hospitals network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. Responsibilities:
Under general supervision of the surgeons and clinical supervision thePhysician Assistantprovides a variety of medical services. These include surgical assisting, inpatient management, preoperative and postoperative evaluations and staff/patient education. The Physician Assistant's are granted privileges as outlined by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Title 16 of the California Administrative Code as per their privilege list. In addition, thePhysician Assistantoversees the day-to-day operation of the function, ensuring that standards of care are met and that all required daily checks, chart documentation meet standards as well as daily call to patients.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:Surgical experienceBachelor's degree in related fieldCritical thinking skills and computer skillsPossession of a license granted by the Board of Medical Quality AssuranceACLS and BLSPREFERENCES:Experience in an acute care hospitalMaster's degree in a related fieldNCCPA Certification and Recertification
