The East Regional Oncology MSL Director, GI GU is responsible for the execution of Medical Affairs strategy in support of the organization's business strategy and objectives. You are also accountable for leading and managing Field Medical Affairs resources in collaboration with Medical Affairs Leadership. Reporting to the Franchise Head, you will serve as a core member of the Franchise Leadership Team. The geographic responsibility for this role is the Eastern half of contiguous North America. Preferred major cities where the ideal candidate can reside are (Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington D.C., Charlotte, New Jersey as examples). Will work remotely.

The East Regional Oncology MSL Director, GI GU will develop and lead a team of field-based Oncology Medical Science Liaisons (MSL's) in support of therapeutic area and brand medical plans. You will ensure MSL teams deliver customer outcomes through execution of Medical Affairs deliverables for assigned brands(s) and contribute as a member of Medical Affairs workstream(s) representing field and customer perspective.

Additional Accountabilities will include providing guidance on collection of medical insight and communicate actionable items to internal stakeholders as appropriate; lead and manage change initiatives as needed in the field to enable positive business outcomes; serve as a role model fostering personal accountability and ownership of individual and team success; manage performance of direct reports - including recruiting, hiring and retention. You will also facilitate scientific and skill training as well as professional development for direct reports while also providing timely feedback and coaching to MSLs to improve performance and business impact.

Essential Requirements

Advanced Life Science Degree (MS, Ph.D. Pharm D, or MD)
Minimum of 3-5+ years' experience in pharmaceutical industry preferably in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development
2+ years' field team management experience
2+ years experience in Oncology (academia, pharmaceutical, or other)
Experience in product launch development and execution
Experience with product strategy development and execution
Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication
Thorough knowledge of FDA requirements
Basic knowledge/understanding of health economic principles and clinical trials
Prior people/team leadership and management experience
Ability to travel 30% + (Company Car provided)

Desirable Requirements

Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine preferred, Advanced Scientific Degree with equivalent experience required
MBA in conjunction with advanced scientific degree
3-4 years of pharmaceutical Medical Science Liaison experience
