Chief of Thoracic Oncology

Faculty Leadership Position Available

Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey seeks an academically oriented oncologist that could complement and expand growing programs in prevention, diagnosis and treatment, to serve as the Chief of Thoracic Oncology Program.

He/She will be expected to lead an active clinical program, supporting clinical trial accruals and contributing to ongoing clinical and translational research. Attractive packages for research support also exists for qualified clinical research candidates. Academic appointment will be through the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and RWJBarnabas Health, the state’s largest health care delivery system partner to deliver high-quality and sophisticated oncology care to patients close to home. This integrated cancer care model combines the strength of both entities, offering access to the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options for adult and pediatric cancer patients, including clinical trials, immunotherapy, proton therapy, precision medicine, CAR T-cell therapy and cardio-oncology. Through the above mentioned partnership and an academic appointment at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, unique opportunities exist for collaborations between clinical and research programs, including clinical trials research, cancer chemoprevention, clinical and basic pharmacology, and Phase 1 clinical trials. Faculty are expected to support the educational goals and activities of the School, and as such will be involved in teaching activities for medical students and residents as well as targeted lectures in their area of expertise.

MD (or equivalent) and fellowship training required. Leadership experience preferred. Rank will be

consummate with experience.
