Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream – Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

The Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream and will begin on July 1, 2022, or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must have a DDS/DMD/BDS degree by the time of appointment, a graduate degree in a related field, and have successfully completed specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada or the Commission on Dental Accreditation in the United States. Applicants must be eligible for or have completed the National Dental Specialty Examination and hold licensure in Ontario as a recognized specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

We seek enthusiastic and innovative individuals with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence as well as a demonstrated ability to enhance the domestic and international reputation of our programs, and significantly add to the quality of the student experience. Candidates must have teaching experience in a degree granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures. Additionally, candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical practice and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities. Evidence of teaching excellence and a commitment to pedagogical inquiry can be shown through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below), awards and accolades, and conference presentations, as well as strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.

The candidate is expected to teach at the didactic and clinical levels in both undergraduate and graduate programs in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the Faculty of Dentistry, as well as supervise graduate student research. In addition, the candidate must have a demonstrated ability to develop and direct the graduate specialty program in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
