Description/Qualifications:
We are seeking an experienced, unscheduled/per diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our established team in delivering exceptional care to patients in our NICU. The NICU utilizes a Family Integrated Care (FIC) model where parents are educated and encouraged to participate in the care of their baby, with support from the interdisciplinary care team. As active Vermont Oxford Network participants, we are dedicated to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research, as these elements are crucial to our culture of quality and safety.Position Scope:Function as a resource for staff to promote evidence-based care for neonates and their families.Participate in providing ongoing educational activities for those caring for neonates and their families.Acts as a facilitator and role model for evidence/research-based nursing practice in the NICU.Identifies areas in which research or further investigation would be valuable to neonatal outcomes.Actively participates in the promotion and advancement of professional status of nursing.Work alongside the Neonatologist to care for infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.Act as emergency response for newborns throughout the hospital.Attend high risk deliveries with a multidisciplinary team as the lead resuscitator Salem Health Women & Childrens Services Division includes:10 bed Pediatric Unit which provides inpatient and outpatient services26 bed Mother Baby Unit19 bed Labor & Delivery Unit (12 labor and 7 antepartum beds) with 2 operating rooms27 bed level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care UnitProgram Awards:Achieved five year Baby-Friendly Hospital DesignationAwarded best place in the Mid-Valley to have a baby for six years runningMagnet designated Hospital You may be a qualified candidate if you:Possess a Masters Degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing.Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.Hold a current, unencumbered License as a Nurse Practitioner through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of OregonHold valid NRP Instructor certification Valid, unencumbered NNP national certification issued by a nationally accrediting body (NCC) is required for Oregon certification (licensure). Have at least 12-months relevant NP experience in a hospital setting, within the expanded specialty area within the past three (3) years.Two (2) years of experience in a Level III NICU strongly preferredDocumentation of current DEA certification
