Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.

The Department of Psychiatry at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center/Penn State College of Medicine is seeking a Child Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our team in Hershey, PA for a full-time outpatient position. The program expanded with the addition of 15,000 sq. ft. of space that integrates research and clinical services. The site sees approximately 35,000 visits per year and has plentiful opportunities for teaching. It is the primary teaching site for our child fellowship and also the setting for several different clinical research programs. Clinical services include general psychiatry, as well as specialty programs in adult and child, neuropsychology and psychotherapy services. At this site, the division offers a variety of assessment programs, medication treatments and evidence-based group and individual counseling services. We employ a team approach to pediatric behavioral health care with over a dozen MD/Ph.D. faculty and six master’s level therapists working together to provide child services at this site. All required calls are phone back-up only with the option of additional compensation for doing in-person calls.

Penn State Health Psychiatry is a growing, vibrant department in a strong academic medical center with nearly 50% of its faculty in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. We host specialty clinical and research programs, including research that crosses the translational spectrum. Our educational programs include adult psychiatry residency, child fellowship, psychology internship, externship, and post-doctoral fellows. We have a strong collaboration with basic and clinical science in other neuroscience disciplines across several Penn State campuses. With our clinical partner, the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, the department staffs several outpatient and partial hospital programs for children and adults, 89 inpatient beds, ECT and other neuromodulation services, specialty sleep and eating-disorders programs, and expanding psychiatric consultation and integrated care programs for the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and must be BC/BE in psychiatry. We offer an attractive compensation package commensurate with qualifications. Academic rank will also be commensurate with qualifications, starting at least as an assistant professor of psychiatry, non-tenure track. Experienced candidates may enter at rank consistent with their credentials.
