Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta (Childrens) and Emory University School of Medicine, located in Atlanta, Georgia, has an opening for a Transfusion Medicine and Apheresis physician for Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, beginning July, 2022. This position will report to the Chief of Pathology and serve as a critical member of laboratory leadership in this large pediatric healthcare system. The Transfusion Medicine and Apheresis physician will join a group of eighteen pathology faculty members based at Childrens, nine of whom are existing Clinical Pathologists or PhD laboratory scientists. The department is known for outstanding pediatric clinical and anatomic pathology services, including a national presence in pediatric pathology and laboratory medicine. Successful candidates should demonstrate competency in transfusion medicine and good interpersonal skills, allowing for productive interactions with other transfusion medicine specialists, members of the department, technical staff, and caregivers. The ability to work both within and outside the department to lead or support research in transfusion medicine is also important. There are abundant opportunities for academic pursuits and teaching.Qualifications include: M.D. or D.O. board certification in Clinical Pathology or a clinical discipline related to pediatric medicine Board certification or eligibility in Transfusion Medicine Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of GeorgiaAbout Childrens Healthcare of AtlantaChildrens is one of the most respected pediatric healthcare providers in the United States.
