Northwestern Medical Group (NMG) and the Feinberg School of Medicine (FSM) at Northwestern University seek a full-time, vascular surgeon to replace a retiring surgeon in an established practice with 2 other surgeons.  Primary responsibilities include providing the full breadth of vascular surgery services in Northwestern Medicine’s West Region, specifically at Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital in Winfield and Geneva, Illinois, respectively.  A practice office is located in-hospital at both locations and includes a busy on-site IAC certified vascular laboratory, inpatient and outpatient APN support, and multiple experienced vascular nurses.

This position will be expected to provide comprehensive vascular care in the region and participation in the outpatient non-invasive vascular laboratory. Expectations include shared service call (1 in 3), rounding and caring for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team, and responding to local consultation requests and referrals. Preferred candidates will play a vital role in the growth and coordination of care and other distinctive programming throughout the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute and will have significant opportunities for leadership development throughout the Northwestern Medicine system. This position will include an appointment as a Health System Clinician on the faculty within the Division of Vascular Surgery of Northwestern University.

Qualified candidates must have a strong background in clinical vascular and endovascular surgery, have completed an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship program, and are board certified or board eligible in vascular surgery.  Preferred candidates should have at least three years post-fellowship experience as an attending vascular surgeon; however, qualified new graduates are also encouraged to apply.  Vascular surgeons in this position may participate in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational programs (didactic teaching, resident training, preceptorship, and mentoring) or research programs (participation in clinical trial and involvement in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) database).  Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes excellent healthcare and retirement benefits.
