The Division of General Surgery at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and its affiliated medical centers, the University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon to join the full-time faculty. The position entails providing general surgical services to the patient population served by our partner community medical center, Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC). CVMC has a reputation of clinical excellence with a staff that is deeply rooted in the community. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a community setting while having an academic appointment with the University of Vermont Medical Center.

The successful applicant must have completed an RRC accredited general surgery residency and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Vermont and eligible to work in the United States. Duties include educational responsibilities for medical students and general surgery residents from UVM. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff
privileges at Central Vermont Medical Center. CVMC includes a 75 bed medical center, 23 community-based medical group practices and Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. Academic appointment at the University of Vermont will be in the Clinical Scholar Pathway at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commensurate with the candidate’s background and experience.

The surrounding region offers easy access to a number of outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, downhill and cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing and hiking. Our location also puts us 30 minutes from Stowe and 45 minutes to Burlington home to The University of Vermont as well as 3 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from Montreal. We are a safe community with strong
school systems.
