The Department of Pediatrics, Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University are seeking a Division Director of Pulmonology. The successful candidate will be board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology. Candidates must qualify for appointment to the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Excellence in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly contribution is required. Experience in administrative leadership and mentoring junior faculty is highly desired. National reputation and scholarly achievements appropriate for a senior level position will be expected. The incumbents time devoted to research will be apportioned based upon expertise and funding.

Hasbro Children’s Hospital is the only pediatric tertiary care center in RI and serves as the primary pediatric teaching facility for Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the site for Brown University’s Pediatric, Medicine/Pediatrics and Triple Board residency training programs. The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children’s Hospital is a developing group of 4 physician providers and 2 advance practice providers. The division provides care for children with all types of respiratory disease. In addition to the general pulmonary practice, clinical programs include a Cystic Fibrosis Center; the Ventilator Integration Program, for children with more complex problems and using positive pressure support; a multidisciplinary consultative service for neonates with bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Diagnostic services include comprehensive pulmonary function and exercise laboratories and a flexible bronchoscopy program. The Division Director is responsible for oversight of the clinical, teaching, and scholarly activities of the Division.
