POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a highly qualified academic cardiac surgeon for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

The UCLA Division of Cardiac Surgery is a nationally renowned team of experts who set standards in the field. We have a cohort of specialists, pioneering innovative technologies, who work to provide cutting edge, state of the art cardiac procedures to patients.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in diagnosing and treating adult cardiac and advanced diseases. Advanced training in diseases of the thoracic aorta is desirable. The candidate should be proficient in surgical and interventional treatments. In addition, the candidate will actively participate in our busy ECMO program. Advanced skills that include adult cardiac surgery procedures including heart & lung transplantation, procurement, mechanical circulatory support and TAVR are desired. A strong academic background with research is essential as well as a commitment to teaching and education. The clinical practice will be at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center and the Los Angeles VA Hospital.
The candidate must possess an M.D., be ABTS board eligible or certified, and be eligible for California medical licensure. The salary will be commensurate with academic rank and experience.
