General Cardiology, Global Cardiovascular Health Program
The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank (without tenure due to funding) with a secondary appointment within the Department of Global Health in the newly established Global Cardiovascular Health Program. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct global health research in cardiology and have a strong commitment to patient care, scholarship and medical education. This position will be expected to engage in clinical activities.
University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. This position will have an annual service period of 12 months [July 1-June 30]. The anticipated start date will July 1, 2022.
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular medicine (or foreign equivalent). Successful candidates must have an academic track record with evidence of publications and external grant funding. This may include a current career development award or fundable score. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
