Job Details

The John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH) and Jacob’s School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (JSMBS) are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Dermatologist to join our team in our state-of-the-art new children’s hospital and outpatient center.  Located in Buffalo, NY, our center serves a large, diverse pediatric patient population across the 8 counties of Western NY and Northern Pennsylvania. We provide consultative services for the inpatients at OCH.  Additionally, we have a busy phototherapy unit and a robust telemedicine program.  We are part of a multispecialty Vascular Anomalies Clinic.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity for a faculty appointment in the JSMBS Department of Pediatrics, serve as the Medical Director for Pediatric Dermatology at OCH and will have teaching opportunities with rotating medical students, pediatric residents and fellows.

Oishei Children’s Hospital, part of Kaleida Health (the largest healthcare provider in Western NY), is a 185 bed free-standing children’s hospital located in downtown Buffalo, NY, in the heart of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. It is one of only 43 free-standing children’s hospitals in the US and the only in NYS. Our new hospital and outpatient center opened in late 2017 across from the new Jacob’s School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. Also adjacent to OCH is the Buffalo General Medical Center, Gates Vascular Institute and UB Clinical Translational Research Center. OCH has a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, serves as the Regional Perinatal Center for Western NY with a 64-bed Level 4 NICU and 3500 deliveries a year and is an ACS designated Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.

Buffalo has undergone growth and resurgence over the last decade. It is a diverse city rich with many cultures, year-round professional and amateur sporting events, a noteworthy art, music, and theatrical scene, spectacular architecture, including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin Martin House and a newly revitalized Canalside on the waterfront. The annual Taste of Buffalo and city-wide Garden Walk are two of the largest such events in the US celebrating Buffalo’s famous culinary heritage and world-class Olmstead Park System. Buffalo’s central location makes travel easy to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Niagara-On-the-Lake, the Finger Lakes wine region, skiing and hiking all within a 2 hours’ drive.  The Buffalo Niagara International Airport offers many daily direct flights to cities across the US and is consistently named one of the best airports in the US.
